What is a Children's Centre?
Children's Centres focus on pregnancy, children under the age of five and their families. Sutton Locality deliver services at New Hall and Holland House Centres plus a range of community venues.
Children's Centres can provide information and support relating to many areas such as:
• Childcare signposting including the new 2 year old places
• Health Clinics, checks and courses/workshop delivery.
• Family support at universal/univeral plus levels.
• Training and employment signposting
• Parenting skills courses
Early Learning, help and support through universal services - Stay and Play.
Sutton Locality Children's Centres
From 2018 Children's Centres have been grouped into 10 Districts, under Birmingham Forward Steps. Birmingham Community Healthcare Trust partnered with Spurgeons Charity are making the most of local knowledge and previous practice to build a new service.
The purpose built Centres in Sutton Locality are:
Holland House Children's Centre 675 7171
New Hall Children's Centre 464 5170
We also use a range of community bases in Four Oaks and in Boldmere.
There is an admin base at Arthur Terry School 323 1121.
Opening times and services provided will differ. However, the good news is that families can now access services in all Children's Centres city wide and not just the nearest to where they live. Staff will be able to work across the whole locality, and parents can be better involved in shaping services .
