For Parents

Our partnership with parents is key to our work.  We welcome all comments or feedback.  Comment books or evaluation sheets are available in all Centres.

Parent Forums

Parent Forum  runs at New Hall Children's Centre. Please call 464 5170 for the next date.

Parent Representatives at Advisory Board meetings

Any parent with an under 5 can volunteer to put himself or herself forward as a Parents Representative.  Our Advisory Board is made up of members of the Children’s Centre staff, parents and partners, and the role of the parent members is to act as a link between the community and the Children's Centre.  Our partners include representatives from Schools, Nurseries, Health, Adult Education, Job Centre Plus and local Churches for example.  This group is for Sutton Locality so welcomes parents from anywhere in Sutton Coldfield.

We meet five times a year at New Hall Children’s Centre for about an hour on Thursday afternoons and receive information about how the Children’s Centre is progressing.  We give advice and opinions on the decisions that the Centre has to make.

If you are a parent, with a child under 5 years, and you would be interested in attending the Advisory Board meetings please contact us via this website or ring the office on 0121 323 1121 for an Information Pack.  We will need your postal for email address.  We do provide training and ongoing support.

Notes from the last meeting:

Meeting - January 2017

We were updated that the tender for Children's Centres closed on 9th December. The two potential bidders are Change Grow Live and Birmingham Community Health. We have responded to an invitiation from CGL to express an interest in partnership to continue to deliver CC services. The decision is now delayed till March to go to April cabinet.

We had a speaker from RLSS about the Save a Baby and Save a Child workshops.

In  Sue Bailey's absence Catherine Price from FYPS chaired the meeting.
