You are also welcome at our Breastfeeding support sessions to find out more in advance. These groups help us to promote our New Birth Visits to families in the area.

Baby Signing
The Benefits of Baby Signing

Enables babies to communicate their needs effectively reducing frustration. This improves the parent/child bond and reduces tantrums and other behaviour problems.

Helps parents to focus on key words which with the signs, improves babies understanding even before they can sign for themselves

When used alongside speech it increases development of spoken language. These courses can be accessed from 4 months upwards but are ideal for ages 12-18 months and can be continued afterwards.

It is fun! You will be amazed how fast your baby learns and how much they know long before they could have the speech to tell you in full.

Tiny Talk Baby Signing run courses at Holland House Children's Centre (and in various other venues.) Courses at New Hall are run by our Children's Centre Teacher.

New Birth Home Visits/ Membership of Sutton Locality Children's Centre
When you have had a new baby, a member of our team will visit you and your baby at home, and give you all the information you need about Sutton Locality as well as one of our New Birth Welcome Packs. This visit is separate and different to the mandated Health Visitor visits at 10 days and 6 weeks. We aim to visit between 8-16 weeks. You are welcome to contact us or attend services earlier.  We provide What's On information but also health and safety information is included in our packs. These visits have become increasingly popular and 93% of new parents benefitted in 2015.

If you have  moved into our area you can register with us by attending one of our activities or you can call our main office 323 1121 if you would like personalised information.  If you are already registered with a Birmingham Children's Centre you only need to contact us and update us with your new address and you may wish to join our e mail list.

We do ask that all parents using our Centre services are willing to complete our registration form.
